Super Marimo Depth is a maritime exploration game that immerses players in the challenge of nurturing a marimo as it sinks deeper into the ocean. The gameplay revolves around balancing affection and caution: guiding the marimo downward while avoiding hazards that could end the game prematurely.

At the onset, the marimo enters the sea and begins its descent. Allowing it to fall freely results in a rapid acceleration that necessitates player intervention to prevent collisions with floating debris. Contact with any obstacle terminates the session.

Throughout its journey, players can collect mozuku, a type of seaweed, which serves as the primary nutritional source for the marimo. Regular consumption of mozuku is essential for growth, making collection a strategic priority.

Occasionally, objects resembling brown marimo, identified as hairballs, appear in the environment. These can be neutralized by bumping into them, resulting in their rupture and dispersal of mozuku. Incorporating these into the marimo's diet further supports its expansion.

The game’s objectives are centered on two key metrics: how large you can grow your marimo and how deep into the sea you can guide it.

Players can select from two control schemes to suit their preferences:
